Callouts 2011

2011

Friday January 14th

Clifden lifeboats first call out of 2011 was to Dunloughin Beach where a person was reported to have been washed off the rocks into the water. Malin Head Coast Guard requested the launch and LOM John Brittain set off the pagers at 1400hrs tasking both lifeboats to the scene. The Atlantic 75 was the first unit to arrive on scene and began to search the area in moderate conditions with an onshore swell making the shore line search hazardous. The A75 was later joined by our D class , the Cleggan Coastgaurd Unit and Rescue 115 from Sligo but tragically a body was located at about 1600 by the Cleggan Coast Guard Unit.
